ABOUT THE POWDER COATING | WARRANTY, COVERAGE & INFO

 

We use Dulux Powder Coating in a variety of colours to enhance the aesthetics of our products. While Dulux powder coatings are generally scratch-resistant, they can still be scratched if they come into contact with sharp objects, other metal surfaces, or if the equipment is subjected to rough treatment.

The good news is that powder coating is highly durable and can withstand significant wear and tear. In fact, it is often more scratch-resistant than other coatings, such as paint.

For customers who prioritise the appearance of their Funky Monkey Bars and want to keep their playgrounds looking fresh, we offer touch-up products available for purchase on our online store.

To maintain the look of your powder-coated bars, Dulux recommends cleaning them no more than twice a year. Environments with higher levels of salt, sand, and dust will impact the appearance of the powder coating more quickly than areas protected from these elements.

To clean, use a mild soap, warm water, and a soft cloth or brush to remove accumulated deposits. Avoid harsh cleaning solutions, as they could damage the powder coating.

If the powder coating has lost some of its gloss, apply a thin layer of wax, let it dry, and buff it off in the same way you would with your car.

As with any powder-coated or spray-painted item, marks, scratches, and dents are inevitable over time and are a natural part of the wear and tear process.

Please note that we do not offer compensation or a warranty on the powder coating, as it is an aesthetic feature of the product and does not affect its structural integrity.

 

SCRATCHES OR MARKS ON DELIVERY

 

On occasions when items may be delivered with scratches or marks, take images  whilst the item is still in the opened box. Email these images to us so that we can then assess these imperfections.  For scratches or marks that are larger than a 5 cent piece, we can offer one of the following solutions:

  • Store credit: up to a maximum of $150 (amount offered is dependent on number of marked items)

  • Refund: up to a maximum of $100 (amount is dependent on number of marked items)

  • Refund on spray cans purchased direct from major Warehouse stores – the correct colour must be purchased by the Customer. Proof of receipt is needed.

  • Replacement of the scratched parts: the scratched parts will need to be sent back to one of our Warehouses, either Perth or Melbourne by the use of a return label sent via Funky Monkey Bars Logistics Team.

We will know if the original scratch or damage has been compromised to look worse.

SCRATCHES ON PARTS ALREADY ASSEMBLED 

We are unable to provide recommendations, solutions, or compensation for any scratches on parts that have already been assembled. It is common for scratches to occur during assembly due to the nature of the powder coating, as mentioned earlier.

We advise checking all parts before assembly, as outlined in the assembly instructions. By reviewing the instructions and understanding the assembly process beforehand, the likelihood of scratches and marks on the powder-coated surfaces will be minimized.

Please note that the grub screws used to secure parts of the Funky Monkey Bar unit may leave marks on both the metal and the powder coating. These marks are to be expected and can be touched up with our recommended products.

Many of our powder coating colours are available in spray cans at large warehouse stores. We can provide the details of each colour to help you achieve a perfect match.
